The Country
Fresh air and open spaces build great minds and bodies - and we have plenty of it at our Nursery. Whatever the weather, we get outside at least once every day in all age groups.
We are so lucky to have TWO outdoor play spaces - one at the front called "The Town" and this one at the back, we call "The Country."
We wanted to offer many varied and unique opportunities outdoors - and a chance to get outside every day, no matter the weather. So "The Country" offers more natural surroundings, including a Woodland Story Corner, a Wildflower Garden, Vegetable Patch and large expanses of grass for running about (and often getting a little bit muddy!)
We grow our own vegetables and fresh herbs – which we harvest for our Cook to add to our dinner!
Our woodland Story Corner features a bamboo forest with tree stump stools. Our “Magic Shed” is full of interesting resources that the staff organise to lead a great variety of outdoor adventures in this wide open space. All areas are safe and secure for the children, with fences and locking gates providing protection.
The Wormery is home to lots of lovely creature, gobbling our vegetable waste and providing luscious worm juice and compost to put on our vegetable patch -- where we might be lucky enough to grow something BEFORE the slugs get it...?!?
Most recently we added a new physical challenge with a "Bamboo "Forest" which has opportunities for climbing, jumping, hopping and manouvering in small spaces safely. It is also just a jolly good place to hide!
Our brand new Mud Kitchen is under-way and, with a little help from our parents, we predict it will be a favourite spot in Nursery. Equipped with plenty of digging, mixing, stirring and squashing, we are looking forward to years of the tastiest mud pies on the planet! YUM!
We have wet suits and wellies to get outside no matter what the weather!
